Magic Breakfast
WHAT WE DO
Magic Breakfast is a charity that delivers free breakfasts to school children facing hunger every day. A hungry child cannot concentrate, so could miss out on half a day of lessons every school day if not given anything nutritious to eat in the morning.
We work with schools to ensure that no child is too hungry to learn and thrive. Our partner schools usually open their doors a little early each morning to offer their students a free, nutritious magic breakfast and ensure they start their day the right way.
We work in schools working within high levels of disadvantage, helping head teachers target the children most in need without making those children stand out or feel embarrassed. We believe that breakfast provision should always be stigma free and open to all.
We work with Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units, with a total roll of over 200,000 children and young people.
Here at Stepping Stones School we have been a receiver of this charity for a number of years. Magic Breakfast have supported us from before Covid, through Covid and continue now. For our children who travel a long way to school in the morning, this provides a nutritious start to the day. We currently received Bagels, Sliced Bread and a choice of cereals. Some of the children here at Stepping Stones are also responsible for helping serve the other children in the class and gives them a sense of responsibility.
We also have been lucky to receive Marcus Rashford Books as part of the Magic Breakfast programme.
