Placements at Stepping Stones School
Where capacity allows Stepping Stones School will continue to aim to offer placements to prevent children from permanent exclusions and in order to support the child re-engage in education and make progress academically, socially, emotionally and behaviourally.
Placements will be offered for 12 weeks pending a review. The mainstream school will need to pay the top up fee of £2,500 per 12 weeks.
The school works in partnership with the Inclusion Service, Alternative Provision Service and mainstream colleagues. A Multi- Agency Professional Panel Meeting meets on a half termly basis to review pupil’s in placement, discuss transitions and pupil’s transition plans alongside making decisions on requests for placements.
If a school would like to request a placement we ask that the request form is completed with contributing evidence and sent to
head@steppingstones.lancs.sch.uk and OST@steppingstones.lancs.sch.uk 1 week prior to the Panel meeting.
